No Gray Area in Christ's Love

Most of the times, God's love is not the same as how the world defines love. In this generation where the meaning of the word, "love" has been perverted, we ought to always go back to the truth.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

Because of God's love, Jesus Christ came for our salvation. The message of the cross is clear - if we repent from our sins and believe that Jesus Christ is the way so that we receive Him as Lord and Savior, we will be saved. In short, the believers are saved, the unbelievers are not. For some, this might sound inconsiderate and harsh, but that's just the truth. There is no gray area.

Outside Christ's Love

We are outside Christ's love when we do not even know about it.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 NIV

We are without strength, ungodly, unable to move, unable to help ourselves.

Even if we have all the courage, but without strength, one still CANNOT DO anything for his own salvation. But praise be to God,

⁸For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— ⁹not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” John 15:9 NIV

Jesus Christ wants us to remain in His love. This is not possible IF we are outside His love.

Outside Christ's love, we are doomed to eternal death, but praise be to God who made a way for us.

Beside Christ's love

The closest we can get is only beside Christ's love if we do not acknowledge that it is the answer. The thing is, no matter how close "beside" is, it is still outside, not inside.

Whether we like it or not, Christ's love involves His death, which saved us from eternal death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 NIV

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13 NIV

We were STILL sinners, but His death provided us a way out of our sinful lives.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 NIV

Notice the word, "while we were still sinners". This means there is a way out of being sinners.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

Jesus Christ is our way to eternal life. Without Him, there is no way out. There is no gray area.

His death served as our atonement so we may enter in His Kingdom.

Inside Christ's love

If we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we will be saved from eternal damnation. Through Jesus Christ, we are reconciled with God the Father.

¹²Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— ¹³children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. John 1:12-13 NIV

Why did God the Father send Jesus Christ to save us? Because of His LOVE.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. John 15:10 NIV

For our salvation, Christ's love is the answer.

With respect to Christ's love, we are either inside or outside of it. There is no grey area.

¹⁵I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! ¹⁶So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15-16 NIV
